#stylepost - Reformation LA

Los Angeles based company Reformation isn't exactly new on the scene as it's actually been around since 2009 but only recently have I come across it. I'll get back to that in a minute.

A sustainable company that is proud to use renewable energy and recycled packaging at their onsite LA based sewing factory. There is no middleman. Reformation and it's simply designed garments go from factory to boutique to home. 

If that's not enough, 3/4 of the management team are women and all employees receive one paid day off a month to volunteer in their local communities. 

*hands up emoji*

So, back to finding Reformation in the first place. 

First it was Bella Hadid scattered across my Instagram/Pinterest feeds in the Avalon bodysuit $78 at Coachella and if that wasn't enough to make me grab my laptop and purse, Emily Ratajkowski, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson and Chiara Ferragni weren't too far behind in the lace up number either. Unfortunately for me fortunately for my bank balance the Avalon is now sold out but there are more current options, including the new 'For Boobs' story.

#stylepost - Charlotte Simone '14 Faux-ever Fur

The faux fur trend isn't exactly new right now... it's been hanging around for the past few Winters in silky forms of jackets, hoods, headbands, stoles and scarves and it's never really appealed to me until the British based designer Charlotte Beecham and her brand Charlotte Simone caught my eye this LFW.

Although not exclusively a fur brand, in fact her ultimate focus is to 'reinvent the scarf' from fur to knits to woven fabrics, Charlotte Beecham does do a cracking good faux fur scarf. Unfortunately, a large handful of the scarves are available in real fur but since that's not for me I've drawn up a wish list of the faux friends to those. 

I usually find that when a designer stocks faux it somewhat feels cheaper and cheated and doesn't live up to the quality of what it should be but even Charlotte herself has said '...while I understand that some people choose fake fur rather than real as a lifestyle choice, I really didn't want to offer it just as a cheap alternative. It needed to be as beautiful as real fur - and in some styles it actually looks better." Vogue.co.uk 2013.

So from a freshman in Paris to her time at NYU to September's LFW these scarves have soared. Big on my wishlist are the most obvious.. The Popsicle... the stripey + khaki style is my favourite. Although for a more affordable style and a little less sought after I am a fan of the slimmer looking (not too sure if it actually is slimmer) Candycane... the blue style teamed with the H&M black maxi coat would be dreamy with Autumn.

#stylepost - Margaret Howell Spring Fever

I can guarantee that I'm not the only Spring devotee currently on the hunt for that perfect Breton striped jumper and those shorts that, without any effort whatsoever from the sleepy headed girl wearing them, can pull an outfit together like your day depends on it.

Already having trouble saving, I'd convinced myself that I don't need to be spending a fortune on new clothes this Spring and the money adding up in my bank account will be worth it... that was until I took a nosy into the backlogs of  some Margaret Howell advertisements and realised that I was oh so wrong.

A Surrey-born, British clothes designer, Howell's key pieces usually involve  beloved trench-coats, duffle coats, shirts and lace up gym pumps. Although I usually prefer a little more clean cut, straight edge kind of style, I can't help but gaze lovingly at some of Howell's pieces wishing I had a tennis game to watch (where my outfit might seem a little more appropriate than on the streets on Cordoba).

#stylepost - Long Live the Bomber

Come Winter, I can never be more excited to throw on a chunky coat, a thick knit jumper and drown myself in an oversized scarf.

Although, I do admit that Cordoba is getting colder and colder, day by day, it's still nothing compared to the Manchester temperatures that I'm used to. A leather jacket is perfect for the sunny days but when night-time falls my teeth begin chattering. That said, it's impossible to get by with my favourite thick knit, navy coat, especially on my daily cycles to work.

This is why the return of the bomber jacket has been my lifeline so far this Winter. Light and stylish enough for the days and padded enough to throw on after a few vinos down at our local bar.

The best thing is, you can bag yourself a bomber no matter what your budget... from Zara's TRF collection to Mango, H&M to Emma Cook... they're all at it.
